I've done a couple more gigs with the Cure. It has been outstanding. I altered my performance rig. I'm now using an EJ Strat (thanks, MarkT) and the Strymon Sunset. This combination really cuts through the mix when you need it to. And that can be controlled, at least for a lot of our material, with pick attack. Keep it light, nice rhythm / backing volume, then hit it for a fill or solo to jump out. I keep the eq bypass in reserve on the off chance I need some additional output volume. Haven't tapped it yet. The light weight and small footprint make it hard to beat for the bar gigs we play. It also sits well in the mix because its lower frequencies are so controllable; they don't get in the way of the bass guitar and kick drum. (I think that's one reason why I run the bass quite low on amps like the Z-Lux and MAZ when I use them live. They have larger cabinets and more thump than the Cure.) The Cure has earned its way into my "Z Core Corps" . This is the roster of amps that are, for me and the music I mainly play, the must haves. (Other Corps members are the Z-Lux, MAZ 18, Ghia and Z Wreck. But my list can and does change.)

That's a good report Mike. I just got my Cure last week but haven't gigged it yet. I'm thinking it will become one of the go-to gig amps (a very short list).

The Level control is really a big aid for me when gigging, Lou. Other than adjusting Level to suit, I don't tweak the amp's other controls at all moving from home to gig use.

I'm down to the Cure as my only Z amp. I gigged it today and I was completely satisfied with its volume feel and tone. It's an excellent amp! I cannot believe how loud this little amp can get and how it cuts through the mix. I sold my Z-lux but have no regrets the Cure can get me exactly what I want and it's lighter weight is also a huge plus. I can take it anywhere and Don't even need a dolly. I like the way it overdrives as well . I crank mine up volume and master wide open level wide open roll back my volume for cleans. Turn it up and engage that boost for leads. It hung tough today with the Hammond b3 another keyboard player bass and a drummer. My Pastor even told us all to bring it down at one point. So that says a lot about the Cure being a small but mighty little amp.
