I don't have the amp yet, but I ordered an EZG head and it's in route. I should have it early next week!
I've been playing a Galaxie for about 3 years now and while I love that amp, I've still been gassing for the EZG clean tone.

You are going to love it. I bought mine last year to replace a Twin Reverb head and I've never looked back. It's amazingly touch-sensitive, and the tones are outstanding.

The EZG 50 was one of my first Zs - still one of my favorites.

Sounds like a big score Roger! I don't think you can go wrong with that choice, and the similar tube compliment doesn't hurt either.

I've been using a lot of boost and OD pedals lately. I'm all over the place with tones playing live. It's hard to get all the sounds I crave out of the Galaxie without turning knobs (Though the Gal ain't going anywhere). It's a great amp.
I love a nice clean sound and then would like about 4 or 5 overdrive sounds. Going from slight breakup to screaming solo sounds with fuzz, wah or treble booster (plus a combo of multiple pedals stacked). Seems like the EZG will be just what I'm looking for.
I've got plenty of EL34 amps. Those amps scream, but I've never got a great clean sound out of them. There's just something awesome about that Fender Blackface clean sound. From what I've heard the EZG covers that territory and then some. I'm super stoked about getting the amp!

I got the amp yesterday and got to guitar-nerd out with it last night at the studio. I was digging it. I put down an experimental rhythm track and it was sounding really nice. I’m sure there are some things I need to learn about how the pre and post volumes work with the EQ, but for just spending a little time with it, I was pretty happy.
She has a lot of bass. My amp was made in May-2011, so I think it’s before the bass mod. But, I didn’t think it was too much bass. I could see why the 4-10 cabinets are so popular with the EZG. I love that the EQ section has a midrange knob. It seems to do a lot to dial in the sweet spots.

Congrats on the new acquisition. EZG is a great amp. I would love have one to pair it up with my Galaxie and some Z-410 cabs Looking forward to your future updates cheers always Joel

Thanks Joel! I definitely have some experimenting to do with it. Between amp settings, speakers and pedals; it should be interesting to find my preferred sound.
I did a quick rhythm track with the EZG the other night. I had another track I had previously put down with the Galaxie. Man, they sounded good together. We panned one to the left and one to the right. My bass player and I both thought it sounded pretty awesome.
Cheers Brother
