The amp will be permanently wired for either comfort or speed depending on the customer's preference.Cost will be $225 plus shipping. Interested Z-Wreck owners can write to repairs@drzamps.com to schedule their modification.

Will new models come with a half-power switch, then? Half power option will be available to dealers in the coming weeks. Dealers will be notified when this will be an option, though there will be an upcharge to new models receiving this modification.

Before I start getting funds together for this, is there a benefit to having a half power switch in comparison to using a break lite on say position 1 or 2?
I'm asking about position 1 or 2 specifically because those are the only 2 settings on which I don't hear a tonal change to wreck that bothers me.

The volume difference is comparable to a brake lite on about 2. I like to call the 1/2 power switch a "sound man pacifier." I think when you flip it, the sound man will be happy and so will you. If you only use your brake lite on 1 and 2, and want to be even quieter than that, I'm not sure this would be the right option for you, because 3 on the brake lite is a pretty substantial volume reduction. However, a brake lite used in conjunction with a Z Wreck on 1/2 power, now that might yield some pleasing results, YMMV.

Not sure what setting is more "TrainWreck" but I remember seeing a post a long while back talking about Speed/Comfort. I guess Ken Fisher wanted "Comfort" and Dr Z wanted "Speed." Apparently Brad Paisley wanted both so hence the switch for both. I enjoy both settings.

I prefer "speed." You get more transient response and thump with speed, and more sag and perceived midrange with comfort.
