I just got my matched quad of NOS 6n14n's from perryr in the mail today and I'm gonna be swapping them out with my factory original tubes in my Z Wreck combo this Saturday. I've never swapped tubes in ANY amp EVER. I was just wondering if there is anything special I need to know or do when swapping out these power tubes. Or is this just matter of taking the rear panel off, removing the covers, pulling old tubes, and inserting new tubes? By the way, perryr has a great convenient Reverb page that he sells these from at a great price! He is also super friendly and helpful and even helped me choose between high and low powered tubes for either earlier or later breakup! I highly recommend his services! Also, I ordered these this past Saturday and they arrived at my house in New York from his residence in Washington by Thursday. That's some pretty good service

Just be careful to align the pins with the socket holes to avoid bending a pin. Speaking from experience ...

Perry is a great guy. I purchased one of his amps (a Maz 38 with silver tolex and z Marshally tone stack) and some tubes from him - satisfied with everything. Wish I had purchased the Kustom tuck and roll Z from him too!

Brightlight,
Like your Dad said, Don't force anything.
If you haven't removed the back panel on a new amp it might be slightly glued with residue glue, or just very snug.
I have used two putty knifes to work it loose.
That can be the most challenging part of the operation.
