I have been away from my guitar stuff on any kind of a regular basis due to job, moving and now relocating my parents back to MI for almost 6 months now. So today I went downstairs got the basic tone were I wanted it and started play with some OD's. I found OK tones but nothing I was super happy with. I then got out my KOT and got a bit closer but did not like mid - hump i was getting. I know it needs to be turned up for a KOT to work but I was pretty high up (Volume cranked and Master at 11). So then I got out my FD and all I can say is I think I may have found my go to. I set it on 12 for some nice crunch and then at about 1 and really hit the stuff I was looking for. And like Steve said back in the day. Just my sound but more of it. And a little more gain added. I worked the guitar volume to clean up and the nice thing was i never lost the great Lux tone at any volume. Just went from clean to some nice gain. I know this is all subjective but just wanted to pass along. I think playing at live volumes (vs. home) Amp and FD and a tuner is all I would take. Just my 2 cents. Back to chores now!

I like the Flying Dragon - the Draconis is even more fun because you can stack the two sides to get amazing OD.

I tried a rockbox boiling point with mine at church today used it in boost mode and was Able to get a real nice clean and crunch out of the Z-Lux and still get the sound of the amp to come through. So I hear you it's great to find a pedal that can drive the Lux but still retain its character.
