Peanut gallery assemble! Has anyone done this yet? Please detailed experiences welcome, before I pull the trigger on a Blue. Thanks in advance.

I have one in mine. I've only played it at low volume but sounds awesome. It is my favorite speaker though.

I'll find out Friday. But, I will say, the Z12 is breaking in a lot nicer than I thought it would. I think I'm going to run this in an A/B rig and keep the Z in it and put the Blue in my Tweed Deluxe. HOWEVER, I am going to put the Blue in the Cure after midnight and see what it is all abooooooout (what 'tis all about, what 'tis all about).

I tried a Blue out along with some other speakers in a different thread (http://ztalk.proboards.com/thread/74992/speaker-voicings-cure-amp). I pushed the bass hard via the neck pickup on my PRS and I found the Blue flubbed out while the others did not. Again, I was testing the limits, you may not push it that hard, but that's what I found.

I put it in yesterday and haven't stopped playing it. It sounds like the Vox AC10 used in the Doug and Pat Show on YouTube. Blue is my favorite speaker by far, and although the Z12 sounds really good, it's cleans in the amp (with humbuckers) weren't doing it for me. I much prefer the Celestion Blue. Sounds like it fits the amp perfectly, but I will keep the Z12 should any reason for different flavor, or by an act of God the Blue blows up. But yeah, definitely the best amp I've ever owned. Maz Jr was a little too loud to run at its sweet spot for most gigs. And the M12 a little too quiet for cleans. Cure sits right between them. And you can crank the Cure to get it working and roll volume down and have loud cleans. Then, depending on the size of the room or time at night, "level" is the best thing EVER! Not power scaling, not attenuation. It seems like a "Master Master Volume. Hands down, best amp for any situation. Hell! I could mic it at the RAH and be all set (I wish). I can't believe how versatile it is. So happy.

What is the weight of the amp with the blue? Is it heavier or about the same? Does it seem to have more cleans or more volume or is it basically a different flavor?

Same weight, I'd say. "Yes" to all of the above. I think it really lets the amp shine. Maybe I have a treble loss problem with my ear, but the Z12 makes it kind of a darker amp, like a JTM45 can be dark. Not in a bad way. But for humbuckers, I prefer Alnico chime. I like the squish of the 15 watt speaker as well.
