This has probably been discussed way too much on this forum but I wanted to bring it on once again. I just listened to this amp on Youtube. This thing simply rocks! It's so dynamic. This 60 watts gives you all the headroom you want but the gain stage is punchy without getting fizzy. I own a MAZ 18NR and dig it but I might have to pop for one of these if they are still around. It's definitely not a one trick pony. Why aren't these popular??

If I remember right those decisions come down to orders. If there are low order numbers the amps generally do not continue production status.

I own four now-discontinued Zs. They're all fine amps. Paul's right: It mostly comes down to orders. Since the amps are hand wired if there aren't many orders the builders sort of "lose their chops" (I'm guessing) and Z doesn't want to tie up $ in parts inventory that he won't turn over fairly quickly. In some cases, discontinued amps get a revival of sorts. The JAZ 20/40 was, at least partly, reincarnated in the Z-Lux. Back on topic: I don't have the SRZ but I do have a 6545

The new EMS will replace the SRZ 65. Look for it to be released mid year.

I have two SRZ 65s - one an early SRZ 65RC and the other an LE - great amps. Mark had an LE for sale around $1,000 plus shipping I believe. You can buy with confidence from him! The EMS is really all that if you looking for that vintage Marshall sound. My funds already are in the bank!

I've almost bought a SRZ on a couple different occasions. Would not be an amp I would use often but man do they sound killer.

Sorry, Mike I nabbed the #35 LE while the opportunity was there I also know the History and who has had it before Mark, It is best to remain in the family!! even if she is a LOL!!! Hey Hot Bridgess, The SRZ is a Mighty Fine amp one of the earliest of the Docs Designs and yes its time to Replace it with something fresh and new However I have an Original SRZ-65 RH and I own a SRZLE #35 last one Made! while the LE Is Close its not what The RH is by a LOng shot, this amp is now 21 Yrs old and has Played a Many of Gigs and I must say Never ever Let me down Not once well at home I had bad REC tube caused a Fuse to blow when it crapped out, its been gigged like a DOG! Hot HUMID 502 KY Summers , and then some. I hope to be one of the first few to get my Hands on this EMS, It will be the start of a new dynasty in the Big Gain High wattage amps that the Doc Produces!!! You can find SRZ's all day that are 2nd gen 19-1/2 wide heads however look hard and be patient you never know when an Old RH or RC may Pop up here on the BST or CL or even FLEABAY!! that would be my suggestion go the Big box route, Good Luck and Welcome to the Forum

Well You Know the Vibe?? WHATS COOL ABOUT THOSE AMPS, you turn the gain about 900 oclock Jack the Volume and Add a lil Compressor and a bit of Slap Back Echo or delay Tele Strat even A LP or HB guitar just turn up the presence a bit and your in clean Natural break up Coumtry fried Pickim Land and There are lots more tones to be Coaxed out of this BEAST , HOPEFULLY AFTER THE REPLACEMENT IS IN HANDS I WILL BE CONTENT TO RETIRE MY SRZS FOR HOME AND STUDIO USE ONLY IT WILL BE WELL DESERVED
