Similar to Lemony Snicket I have had a series of unfortunate events, and I keep resolving the issues and moving on. My latest issue was that my Studio Monitor started getting flabby, (The other is just now starting as I type) I didn't even flinch when it started the first time, I immediately went on line to look for issues and low and behold, Chinese Capacitors that are notorious for failing. So today I decide I should give it a shot, if it goes smooth then things will continue upon that accomplishment. I opened the speaker box and like a thing of beauty there are two obvious Caps swollen like they have the mumps. I start to extract the solder and it works like it is supposed to, the Caps literally fall out. I check Fry's Electronics for stock and they indicate that they carry the 6800 uf 25V Cap. This place is a crap shoot for small electronic parts but once again today there are exactly 4 Caps on the rack, I buy two extra for the other speaker. I install the Caps and it solves the issue of the flabby speaker. How often does that happen? I look for signs, and that was a good one. The other one is now failing miserably! Interesting how four capacitors can go at the same time.

Oh oh! I have the BX5's. I've been shutting them off when not in use, they get hot. Thanks for the warning.
