To my fellow forum members I pose a question. I am in process of converting my z-lux to a combo. I never use the reverb and am wondering if I leave it out of the combo if it will hurt anything by not being in there. Thanks for any advice.

No, it will not.

Sorry that is not correct. The reverb tank is the load to the Reverb Transformer. That would be like running a tube amp with no speaker load. Eventually you will burn up your Reverb Transformer, ask me how I know this. Z

Sorry. I'm just going on my experience with BF/SF Fender amps. I've done this several times and never had a problem with them. Either there is a difference or I was just lucky.

I would say you were lucky, but it is a long term issue. This won't be a problem for say a year, but the Reverb output transformer without the input tanks transducer will fail in time trust me I have replaced a few do to that. All the OP needs is to mount the Reverb tub, connect it and turn the reverb control off. Z

Live and learn. I think the key here is I never ran them more than a few gigs while I was waiting for a replacement. I'm sure Doc is also sensitive to something that might be a warranty issue, as well he should be.
What a shame though to have such a great sounding reverb and not use it.

Thanks to all for the replies. Can anyone tell me where the tank is mounted in the combo? Thanks all.

Good thing we have a Dr on call! He just saved another amps life!

I got to thinking about this and I'm pretty sure I pulled the reverb driver tube on those amps when I didn't have a tank in there. Such a long time ago. That may account for my luck as that would eliminate any current from the transformer.
