I have an upcoming gig Sunday night. I've never played in this church before, so I don't know what to expect. I think it will cut through nicely with stellar tone!

My advice when playing at a new church, with a new amp is to always crank the master volume.

I'm sure it will be fine. I think the Level control will be perfect to help you have tone at whatever level is needed.

I agree with Rock! Crank that master and get those people dancing in the isles! Get them to shout!

Tonight's it. I'm going in with my LPB '63 CS Tele. Pedals are a tuner, a wah, and an Analog Man Bi-Chorus Stereo Chorus (I love the buffer in it). I look forward to using the tone by-pass on our main song. Settings: V:2-2:30, T:12, M:12, B:11, M:3. I can't wait to stretch the wings of this amp. I'll provide my thoughts after the gig.

The gig was a great success. The Cure cut through the mix and was inspiring. This was my first time to use the tone by-pass and I have to say that it's an incredible feature. To be able to go from "just breaking up" to full on smooth overdrive is just fantastic for me. I'm so glad that I got one.
BTW, I play in a Black Gospel group so yes, there was some dancing and they did it when I kicked that boost on!

Were you mic'ed or just a la natural? Natural. I have never had to ability to mic up in these small inner city churches. It's "bring it and crank it" with them. I've only gotten into one instance where I didn't I was loud enough at one of these gigs over the last few years that I've played in this band.

Since the music is blues based, after our main song the ones singing and playing after us would say, "we'll play the blues too". lol I also got invited to be the guitarist for this church. Anyway, it was a good gig and I look forward to "bringing it" with the Cure.

It's true in both small and large churches. I was discussing this with my wife earlier today. I'm not sure that many guitarist are emerging within inner-city communities. Guitarist seem to be very rear in the churches that I've played in over the years.

It's old school blues based and we can go from 0-100 at any given moment depending on how the spirit of the Lord wants to move. I learned quite a bit playing in the church. Mainly playing in so many different keys. And getting in where I fit in. It's a great feeling when the people get touched and God moves through us all like that. That's what I enjoy the most.

The only time I was not loud enough is when I had a maz 8. The Hammond B3 just buried me. I can't wait to test the cure Out next Sunday. I been tracking mine and it looks like I may be getting it tomorrow.
