Hi,
I plan on ordering a Z-lux soon. Loosing my mind waiting for a check!!!
I was wondering how long I will likely have to wait once I place the order?
thanks!

Some dealers, like Humbuckers, have new ones in stock so it would be quick. If you are ordering a completely new amp, probably 4-6 weeks.

I was going to order from Guitar Riot. They don't have one on hand. I appreciate the info, thanks!

It will be well worth the wait the Z-lux is an amazing tone machine as you already know. I have ordered amps from both Guitar Riot and Humbucker Music and both were great to deal with. It's a good decision by you to support the local store, Guitar Riot, if they can get what you are looking for!

I've tried a bunch of stuff there but never bought. I just didnt want anything I tried. But he doesnt exist just so I can satisfy my curiousity. I need to buy stuff so that he will stay in business and I can go check stuff out. That way we both win.

I used to love visiting and supporting the local music stores but for the last 16 years I have lived in a very small town. Ordering is now pretty much my only reasonable option unless I happen to be in or near St Paul/Minneapolis for a certain reason.

It is tough. I just drove from ohio to PA to NStuff and before that to IN to Sweetwater to check out gear. GuitarRiot is cool but limited inventory.

Okay, so I admit it. Im a total schmuck. GC had one and it was perfect and the price was good, and and and....I couldnt help myself!
I only put money on it though. I still have to make good on the rest.

I think we've all fallen to the lure of GC once or twice. Their customer service and shipping leave a bit to be desired. Congrats and good luck with the amp!

And here it is. I have to criticize GC. I tell the guy, a manager no less and for the most part a nice guy, that my wife gets "anxious" when I spend money on music stuff. I'm the bread winner and earn a decent income and have been productive for a very long time and can spend the money if I want too. I have an agreement with her, I just don't tell her. It may seem a little odd but we are both just happier this way. So I tell him the amp must be delivered to the store and I will pick it up. What do they do? They ship it to my house anyway. If it were an isolated incident I wouldn't complain but the last two things I ordered from them they called my house and told my wife my order was in even though I told them not to call. I actually had them verify my home phone wasn't in their system. Clearly they lied. I don't see why they cannot comply with simple requests or why they won't follow through on things they commit too. I cannot trust them in the least. This means I will have to rule them out for future sales. Really stupid on their part. I have been a customer at that store for a decade yet they have managed to alienate me over simple things. Otherwise the amp is perfect and I am super happy with it! I should embellish this story with how great the folks at the Z factory were. I was actually looking at different amps because here, in Cleveland, there isn't any where to demo them. There is Guitar Riot and those guys are great but they have a limited inventory. I ran into Frank in a thread on TGP. I asked him if I could stop out and try an EZG-50 combo and the Z-lux. They graciously permitted it and I loved both amps. I finally settled on the Z-lux. I got to meet Pete out there too, really nice guy. He was listening to Zep I as I walked in. That was a good sign from the start! Not to over emphasise the business aspect of this but the moral of the story is customer service counts!

It is tough. I just drove from ohio to PA to NStuff and before that to IN to Sweetwater to check out gear. GuitarRiot is cool but limited inventory. I feel your pain, brother. I'm originally from Pittsburgh and stop by NStuff (formally Pianos N Stuff) every time I'm in town. They have some great lines & inventory. Excellent service, too. I've been going there since the 70's. Now I'm living in Charleston, SC and there's nobody carrying any boutique stuff here. The instrument market is so bleak that Guitar Center is a different level store than many of the ones in more populated areas. They rarely have any PRS, Fender, or Gibson high end guitars (no Historics, Fender Custom Shop, non PRS SEs, etc.) Beautiful place to live, but the retail musical instrument inventory is abysmal.

The reason I ask is I was going to buy one online from their Ohio store this past Sunday for $1999.00. However by the time I paid sales tax and shipping it was going to cost around $2200.00, so I decided to buy a new one 2 days ago.

Actually this one came from their Illinois store. The thing is in grade A shape and I saved about $400 on it. I almost bought new. I was on the tipping edge but when I added it up it, well I bought a Strymon Mobius with the difference!

I have been a customer at that store for a decade yet they have managed to alienate me over simple things. I finally signed up for a mailbox at the local UPS store. Anything of value comes in there, they sign for it and text me that my package arrived. Way better than having to make sure someone's home to sign, and worry about a package disappearing off the front porch.

I recently had a bad experience at GC as well. Been doing business with them for many years. Really don't want to go into detail about it but I plan on taking my business elsewhere in the future. Cant do business with people who lie to you and you can't trust. It's as simple as that.

Happy honeymoon to you with The Amp! To play her is to love her? I still got this controversial relationship with Z-Lux but beginning to see the light. Actually I suddenly I realized last weekend I've got to the change totally the settings in my Bogner Blue Ecstasy pedal. With Two Rock I used to always use the boost function with the gain. It was out of question not to do that - Studio Pro 35 is that clean that in order to get a decent amp-like gain you absolutely have to use the boost. Now with the Lux I leave the boost off and so the amp keeps all the bottom and fullness when I push the gain of Blue Ecstasy on. So organic - the amp just blossoms. A real game changer both with my relationship with the Z-Lux and with Bogner BE. If you're not familiar with Blue Ecstasy I must say that the boost in it isn't a normal boost - it puts the gain into a different level or mode.
I'd like to know how you like the Mobius all in all and particularly with the Lux? I'm kind of hyper sensitive that the signal & the amp must breathe through the pedal. I used to have a Strymon Orbit and Jam Pedals Ripple phaser. With both of those it kind of sounded like there was a thin membrane on the sound, so the amp did not breathe or inhale as it should when the combination with the guitar, pedals and amp is at its best. Again - sorry for being too lazy to look up the correct / best words & phrases.

I haven't tried my Bogner BE pedal with my Z-Lux. I can say this about it, the only tones I really love (and this would have been with the Maz 8 or the Therapy) were ones when the BOOST was on. I get fantastic, organic low gain tone from my amp setup, and that's pretty much my base tone, usually. I run the Blue pedal pretty hot. I bought the Red pedal too, but the more I played it the more boxed in I felt. It's got a tone that sounds kind of like a cocked wah pedal that I can't get rid of, and it defines the pedal. The Blue pedal on the other hand sounds more open if that makes sense. I'll have to dig it out and try it with my Z-Lux, thanks for the tip.

I've had my Lux only for 3 months and haven't yet bothered to really find out how to get inspiring tones with the boost on. Will do it pretty soon I guess. With my my chambered body Les Paul I've got the BE on Blue mode, pre eq on b1 and structure on 101. The gain is at the moment only on 11 and the volume 11.30. Was playing some americana so the mild gain was just fine & sweet. Sometimes I even use the plexi mode and put the gain to 3 O'clock position. Playin ACDC back on blue mode with the gain on two o'clock, maybe the pre eq on neutral to cut the harshness. The tweaking is worth it, now I see it.

Again - sorry for being too lazy to look up the correct / best words & phrases. Honestly Im not that blown away by the effects. What is great about the pedal is it is so many pedals, easily accessable, in one box. It also allows you to double route the effects so you can configure them pre or post dirt. In that way it is a super practicle live tool. That is not to say that the sounds suck, they are decent. There are just independent pedals I like more....like ten of them, chorus, flanger, vibe, trem, univibe, etc. Besides pedal board realestate it is a bargain price-wise considering how many devices you have in one box. Their cust service is great too. I had a problem with my pedal power supply, they totally owned the issue and helped me resolve it. Another thing I have discovered about this amp is that the tone controls do a lot. They not only adjust the tone but the gainyness of the amp as well. I typically set all the tone controls below 12 oclock as it sounds best that way as a pedal platform. If Im just goofing around with the amp and want to get an aggressive tone I crank the tone controls past 12.
