Sounds like the makings for a good one. I particularly like the chord voicings.

I'd love to jam with you on this tune. I've got a great a drummer to bring along too.......o well. It's a cool song. A great instrumental. Over the years I've simplified songs like this to stay closer to the original riff and not finished or lingered with " another cool part ". It's gets to mentally fatiguing to remember the changes, tempo shifts, and strumming patterns as well as makes the song lose identity.
People love sweet grooves. Don't be afraid to cut the fat out and simplify for playing enjoyment as well as audience connectivity and melody remembering. My drummer buddy has turned me from a wanderer to a melody enforcer. If that makes sense.
Sounded cool. Wish I could hear it with live drums.

From 11 seconds to 2:18 and then back to the top riff for big finish ... was what my ears would want....just before the last wander. Just an idea from a never was has been ...
Love the whole vibe and tone. Killer Chords would be a great band name with tunes like this

Love the whole vibe and tone. Killer Chords would be a great band name with tunes like this I love the feedback!!! I'll totally try this! I come from a musical background of playing in a lot of experimental and post-rock bands with very exhausting and long songs (8 minutes + )! The last few years all the songs i write i usually try to keep under 4 minutes or so. It really is a talent/skill to be able to write short sweet songs!

I came from a similar thing...and I was the main reason thing were getting riffed out and exhausting mentally. I can write better than I can actually play. My ear is better than my hands. lately I've been think about just writing sweet grooves and not trying to hard .... Just relying on the fact that everyone loves music that isn't attention seaking and that just grooves....people love a soundtrack for life. Trust your chords and believe that they are already cool sounding....more parts steal the show from sweet grooves that lay a melodious memory.

I tried cutting out most of the stuff after 2:18 and I'm way happier about it! Still needs some more reworking, but it's getting there! I know what you mean though. Trusting that your chords are good enough and not writing to impress is definitely a sign of mature song writing. I'm still working on that!
