I would like to comment on the Z Lux CURE comparisons that are and will be taking place online.
The Z Lux is a Pro piece of gear that graces stages played by Pro's and weekend warriors a like.
It is a full featured amp that is twice the cost of the CURE.
I did not design the CURE to be a Z Lux Jr. NR, though it does share much of the Z Lux's DNA.
The Z Lux has been my most successful new amp release to date, it sure hit the mark with many players.
So with that in mind I set off to spin a very LOW cost entry level amp that shared the Z Lux's base foundation, I have even eluded to it being close to a Z Lux Jr. .
But in fact it was earmarked for players that can't quite pay the admission charge for a Boutique Amp.
An excellent grab and go light weight amp, with the advanced designed LEVEL control for fun at home playing, and studio work.
I thought it would be a way to open my product line to new users, bring them into the flock at a very affordable price.
A great amp to bring to a jam night, or a friends basement, always able to achieve the perfect volume level without compromise.
The CURE is in no way released to compete or replace the Z Lux.
I have told many so far if you have a Z Lux , you really don't need a CURE, unless your intrigued by the revolutionary LEVEL control.
There are many differences in the CURE, Tube rectified, Vintage hand wound Output Transformer, smaller lighter cab, no Reverb or tube driven Trem, a 12AT7 Phase inverter, no split load biasing, or unique half power switch.
I welcome my friends and Z family to try and enjoy the CURE, but a direct comparison I feel isn't really fair, just based on price alone.
An old friend and good dealer of Z amps told me, " There is no product at this price point that can touch or compare to the CURE ."
Let the CURE stand on it's own legs and appreciate the out of the box design that it is.
Also a rumor has been circulating online that the CURE is built in Mexico , that is NOT true, probably started by one of my competitors
that can't believe such high quality and original design can be priced at a import PC board knockoff price point.
