My AMW 39 is already for sale on Reverb... So, you're in ? So in. I've owned a Monza and played an SRZ, I trust Doc wouldn't have gone backward from those designs. If anything, this will at least be a lateral move from the AMW, and I'd rather support Z at the end of the day.

I haven't heard a Brown Eye in a long long time, but this has more gain than a stock 800... Thanks Frankie... Based on Doc's description I think it may still be too much in the vintage Marshall realm for me, but I'm looking forward to a good demo. What about he JCM 800 setting with a good distortion in front of it?Maybe add a Brakelite and crank the master and gain?

As I reread the title of this post, "Something to ring in the New Year," all I could think is my tinnitus may be about to get a whole lot worse. I will have to proceed with caution and play responsibly.

What about he JCM 800 setting with a good distortion in front of it?Maybe add a Brakelite and crank the master and gain? No distortion pedals ! I've wanted an amp this style (modded Marshall) for a while now but I got side-tracked and bought 8 or 9 Zs instead ! If the Z is not the one it's no biggie. There are 3 or 4 other amps already picked out that can get me there. There will always be other Z's to buy I will wait to hear a good demo of the EMS, though, before I venture elsewhere.

When I spoke with Doc a couple months ago he said he was going with Marshall sized head cab since he did want to appeal to Marshall fans as well as Z fans.

Glad to see the excitement for the EMS. Essential Marshall Sound
Three generations of the 50 watt Marshall in one box.
JTM-50 Which is the tube rectified early EL-34 50 watt. JMP- 50 Which is the solid state small box EL-34 50 watt. JCM- 800 ( 2204 ) Which is the Cascaded gain EL-34 50 watt.
Will be sold as a Head, or a Head with Backline 2X12 cabs loaded with Creamback M's.
Happy New Year, Z
But the important part is, can it be ordered in red? 😁 Another winner, Doc! At this point, I'm just working an adult job so I can afford to buy more Z amps... Frank, I think there was some collusion going on with you and the Shop!

Very sweet looking and the design sounds really sweet too. Covers lots of tonal range.

I'm thinking this will cost a bit more than the Cure. ZWreck territory.....it just seems like these Marshall style amps cost more.

Doc's done a great job of figuring out how to keep most amps under that $2k mark. I thought Doc said something somewhere about how the $2k mark is the sweet spot to attract us (shudder) "boutique" guys, and also is attractive to coax the people who are buying from the big box names...

I have absolutely zero room for an EMS and a 2x12.... so the logical solution would be to sell the home and get a bigger one, or I could just park the wife's car outside and put it in the garage... 😃 Seriously though this amp looks amazing and I want one!

Is the garage heated? You don't want the amp cold.
