I'm fired up!!! Just got an EZG 50 head and should be in my hands in a week. Adding to my Z collection is awesome, but after reading so much about this amp I can't help feel this bad boy is going to be high on the list of what's used most and really looking forward to the reverb. This is going to be one long week, Christmas is coming a little early. Question is what do I plug in first the SG or the Strat??? Someone check in on my wife please !! I'll update once it's in.

congrats. The EZG is my favorite of the Z amps, I think it's his most versatile design.
I run mine with a Z12 for the tone, but also, because anything more than 1 12 I just couldn't get away with volume wise, as even 1 12 in speaker sounds HUGE and also LOUD with this amp.
The strat would be my first choice to plug in. For stratty clean tones, try the pre at 9 o clock, post at noon, and if it's an older one without the bass mod (like mine is), I wouldn't run the bass knob any higher than 9 o clock.
And yes, you will enjoy the reverb. It is glorious.
You may find the reverb, added midrange, and road-worthy dependability to make it even better than any old blackface amp.

I just traded a forum member for an EZG head as well. I had him send it to the Doc for the bass mod, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm not sure if it'll replace the Maz Jr as my gig amp, though. I'm a little concerned about the 50 watts, 50 Dr. Z watts at that.
