Living in Europe (Denmark) with a 110 Volt Route 66 it would be nice to lose that huge external lump of a stepdown trafo and change the trafo inside the Z for an EU version.
Anyone knows where I can get one? Preferably in EU.
tnx

I believe it would be as simple as exchanging the 110v primary tap to the 240v primary tap on the power transformer. It is a simple solder job if you know the color codes for the primary tap wires.

Unfortunately my amp is from 1999 before they made transformers that took both 110 and 230 volts. I asked Dr Z and they answered very quickly asking for the serial and found out that I need a new one (at $200 + import taxes), I think I'll lug the external trfo with me a little longer... BTW, Just made a new Surf song with the Route 66 and my new Duesenberg Starplayer guitar, great stuff! Rays-O-bladebr Jim

I like the close up f Chrissy as you are lifting and modifying her hook.

haha, thanks for being the only one who noticed that :-)
Middle of the road is one of the greatest songs of all time, I wish I could play the full solo but my fingers just wont move fast enough...

3 years later and after selling my RT66 head a few years ago I have been offered to buy it back and I am seriously considering it! I play Trio Texas Blues and currently use a '70 Bassman head or a Victory Sheriff 44 (like a JTM 45) but there's something about that thick and creamy RT66 sound that pulls hard at me.
I don't think I have ever considered buying back an amp before... maybe my Bruno Cowtipper 22 earlier but I'm not into those midscooped Dluse Reverb sounds anymore.

JimR Do you still need to modify the transformer or replace it to get to 240V

Well yes I think the head is still for sale but the cost of the trafo and getting it mounted is probably too much as I will never get it back selling it later
