Is it an EQ bypass pedal like the Maz?
Who uses it for solos?
Is it dependent on the EQ settings?
Curious minds want to know........

I am not sure if the boost is the same as the Maz. It seems to be the same as the Remedy. I am pretty sure the it takes your EQ settings out of the equation and bypasses it. I use it strictly for a solo boost on rock type songs. It does add some grit to it, which makes it perfect for my needs for that area. I know there are guys who will chime in here shortly who play with the boost on all the time and they love it that way. There are others who use it as a dirt channel, and use the volume knob on it to get sound levels more even. I haven't tried to use the amp like that yet, but I going to!

Hi Pete,
Yes, same deal as on the MAZ series, Remedy and Antidote. You probably recall that the original bypass was either fully engaged or not, and the volume jump could be "too much" at some settings. With the adjustable, full bypass is achieved when the pot on the foot switch is all the way up. At lower settings, the tone controls are still in circuit, sort of in parallel (?) with the bypassed signal. It's not really a variable boost the way an active pedal would be. It's more like a mixer's pan pot: you get a blend of the two signals, except at the extremes (think "hard right" or "hard left"). Since one of the signals is hotter, the more you "pan" toward it, the louder your output level.
At least that's how I think of it.
Added: It works really well. So well that I sometimes just leave it engaged, usually with the pot about halfway.

I find that by running the EQ controls at higher settings (say, past 12:00) it makes the transition to EQ Bypass not too much of a difference. That has been the major complaint of that feature. Then you can also tweak the bypass setting with the new Variable Bypass Footswitch to taste.

The Three Wise Men......thank you!! I think that variable knob is the key here. I didn't care for the feature on my Maz, and found to boost too severe on my Remedy..........but this porridge looks just right!

The Three Wise Men......thank you!! I think that variable knob is the key here. I didn't care for the feature on my Maz, and found to boost too severe on my Remedy..........but this porridge looks just right! I found it unusable with my Maz and Remedy it was juts too much. With the variable its perfect I keep mine like Doc about half way. I keep it on all the time too. It sounds so fat its just perfect I don't turn it up all the way either. I get enough gain at about half way. I don't play with a lot of distortion or overdrive though. Its a great boost because you can dial it in to your tastes. Sometimes I will use the J rocket archer icon with it or my Marvel drive. Thats when I do use more gain. But most the time it works just fine just straight in. The amp sounds so rich its just perfect the way it is.
