If the new documentary is true, it's a pretty compelling case that she was innocent. I hope i never get caught up in the court of public opinion or catch the attention of an over-zealous prosecutor.

I saw offered on Netflix, but haven't saved or watched it. I was wondering if it was propaganda from her side?

I saw offered on Netflix, but haven't saved or watched it. I was wondering if it was propaganda from her side? Well, yes and no. Whether it's propoganda, I don't know. She was acquitted after all by the Italian Supreme Court. It's a pretty damning indictment of the tabloid press and prosecutor. Her side of the story actually makes perfect sense after watching this film.

I followed the case from the very beginning, and it seemed like she was being railroaded because the parents of all the rich kids going to college in Perugia (the Italian town she lived in) were calling for blood, and threatening to pull their kids out, doing serious damage to the local economy. The media sensationalized the story, and if it weren't for them, the Italian justice system might have thrown the book at her and no one would have known.

I watched it,and I don't think there was ever a reason to arrest her.The prosecutor seems to have some lurid fantasies he's projecting onto her, with contaminated dna evidence,no motive, and a predisposition to expect all young women to behave the way he sees fit.I did not find her to be a sympathetic character, but she isn't guilty. And I hate when men in power shame young women for behaving the way they did when 19-20(drinking,smoking weed, hooking up). This case reminds me of the west memphis 3,as far as outrageous story with no evidence and public hanging (metaphorically) of the accused.

An interesting Doc to be sure.
I'm still wondering about the poo left in the toilet...what was that all about? Did they test it for corn?

I'm italian, I live in Rome. Seeing that show on Netflix made a lot of people angry. Beyond all that "guilty or innocent" thing, it seems pretty disturbing to make a show about a sad story like that, IMHO.

That "guilty or innocent" thing would be THE reason to make a show about it.If i'm ever falsely accused and convicted I hope someone cares enough to take up my cause and make a documentary about it.

Well, I've seen many cases like this during the last years in Italy. Why this one was so special to make a TV show about it... I really don't know and honestly I don't care. I'm sure it worked pretty good for producers... and her. You can't tell she was "falsely accused and convicted" as much as I can't say that she's guity and she basically run away to avoid jail. We don't know what happened and we'll never do, so we can just build our own idea and nothing more.

You don't need to sit there to look at the case and the evidence against her, Sollecito, Guede and Lumumba. It's a complicated case and a disturbing story with lots of morbid media attention, maybe too much. I would never watch a show like that, I'm not criticising people who do/did but to me it's too much.
