I've put my 50 watt, medium dope, ceramic Weber Blue Dog back into my Therapy instead of the Canabis Rex. At first I thought "YUCK, harsh and bright....", and the Therapy has a lot of bright in it. As well I felt like the Blue Dog compromised the EQ usefulness compared to the C. Rex or V30.
Well I wasn't feeling it right away but I really like how the low end squishes a bit in this speaker....so I kept it in and thought I should give it a few days.
A couple days in I think.....it is brighter and louder than the C. Rex (surprised at the DB boost as the Rex is 101 db's) as well it requires a TOTALLY different approach to EQ-ing, but I'm liking it ALOT.
The thing I've been noticing is that I get lazy in my listening and instead of slowing down and listening I just blame the guitar, amp, speaker, pickups, pedal, tubes, picks, strings....you get it....things I have LOVED MANY MANY times. Once I slowed down and started listening a bit deeper and not fighting it by trying to make it what it wasn't, I found it to be a really inspiring speaker.
Last thing is it REALLY brought out the best in my Tele knock off...Swampkaster....as well the P90's in my LP were happily honking away. The Strat took me a bit longer to connect with....absolute opposite with the C. Rex which I thought made the Strat King.
I guess these are like Celestion Blue tonally ...mine is ceramic not alnico...they give it a rough edge on the low end and lots of crystal on the top...the bass is more than ample with this low end heavy amp and can sound like a Bass guitar when finger/hybrid picking.

Sounds pretty Cool. Thats the coolest thing about the Z cabs. Its so easy to try out different speakers in them. I have only had experience with the Z speaker with the therapy. But I would like to try some others with it like maybe an alnico cream or even a creamback. So far I am liking the Z speaker with it so much I am in no hurry to try anything else. I def don't like bright speakers. Especially since I only use single coils. The Therapy still impresses me I can get some nice grind and crunch as well as beautiful cleans. I took it over to my buddy's house who is a good guitar player and he thought the Therapy sounded like an old Marshall. He plays Boogie's old ones. They actually sound real fat.

Strat still sounds great but I'm loving the Swampkaster Tele.....I was getting some great Keith Richards Exile on Main Street tones tonight....like this song specifically

Thats one thing about the therapy it can get some versatile tones with that EQ and the right speaker.

I wondered if British understood British mumble. Nope...... The real reason I could never be a star is simply because I realize I'm an idiot....looks like Mick proves the ignorance is bliss theory. He can dance around any old way and still think " Yah mate I'm cool". I'm really loving this speaker....gives a great vibe off. Getting the hang of the EQ now and feeling happy happy happy. Therapy is working. Also...this amps is sooooooo easy in tubes.
