Hi, I picked up a Zwreck combo with a changed speaker. Perhaps I'll put a Celestion Gold back in it but my question is what Gold is original? That is, what wattage and ohm rating should I get? Thanks.

I believe the original speaker is a Celestion Gold 8 ohm speaker. A 16 ohm would also work fine.

Based on pics of the back it looks like a 8 ohm Gold is stock in the combo. All Golds are the same wattage.

Both mine came factory equipped with Celestion Alnico Golds, 8ohm. They are a little crispy outa the box, but after a good long break-in they are just absolutely fine, love those things. But they do need a good break in, and when they do break in its quite noticeable, they sound fuller, sweeter, better lows.

DC here!
Stock speaker as said earlier is: Celestion Gold - Alnico magnet and rated at 50 watts - impedance is 8 ohms
Cheers: Dixiechicken!

Thanks!
Does a single 8-ohm speaker affect an amp differently than the same model speaker 16-0hms?

Thanks! Does a single 8-ohm speaker affect an amp differently than the same model speaker 16-0hms? Some would argue yes as it uses more winds on the transformer. I would vote no since you probably can't tell the difference! If the 8 ohm came stock....i'd just go with that

Welcome to the forum! Truth be told, the Wreck probably sounds great with almost any speaker. I use an EV and it's fantastic.
