If I wanted to, is it possible to modify the amp from solid state rectifier to tube?

Humor me. Why would you want to do that?

Humor me. Why would you want to do that? A tube rectifier has less compression/stiffness than a solid state rectifier. I'm loving the way the amp sounds, but I remember when I had my JAZ too, it always seemed like the dynamics were being stifled by the solid state recto. If it's possible to change out to a tube rectifier, I would love that, that great Z Lux EQ/tone but with more open. airy, dynamic, less compressed sound. I'm after trying to get sort of a low-powered 6V6 EZG.

Well if you have enough time and money, you can pretty much do anything. Will it be worth it? Boy, I'm not sure I could say - take the best sounding amp I've ever owned and modify it? Yeesh. That's like wanting to switch out the tiptronic transmission in your Porsche Carrara for a Hurst 4 on the floor. My fear is in the end you would regret the experiment, but you would have irreversibly modified the amp, simultaneously destroying it's sound, AND it's resale value.
But who knows - maybe it would sound cool. Hard to imagine though - mine sure sounds fantastic as is.

My bet is that Doc tried it and discarded the idea. But that's just my opinion .
