Just put a down payment on a black Z-Lux. I have an early Remedy head that I love but I really want a combo with a master for gigging. I've been playing a Fender '68 CDR in my blues band and it's has had its moments but the Remedy has spoiled me a bit. I actually used the Remedy with a 2x12 for a bigger gig, but most of the pubs we play I have to keep the CDR around 3 on the volume. I'm also hoping to ditch my pedal board, we'll see :-). The clips that I've heard sound great. Looking for clean with some hair and a ability to boost and get more drive. It sounds like the Z-Lux can deliver.
Anyway, I wanted to say thanks in general to the forum for being such a great community and resource for tone research :-).

Looking forward to it, I'm still waiting for an ETA from the store but I imagine 6-8 weeks. I was pre-warned by a friend that works there that a bunch of people are going to want to hear a demo before I take it home :-). I may have to sell tickets.
BTW: It was Steve's Z-Lux Les Paul Neck Pickup Test clip that finally sold me.

Even the 20 watt setting kicks but...I just tried the 40 watts setting once or twice n the 16 months I owned it . I had to sell mine, my back got
worse and couldn't lift it anymore.

Just got word from the dealer that the amp is 5 days out! Soon... Well the previous ETA was a little off but the new arrival estimate says tomorrow. Failing that it will be Tuesday since Monday is Thanksgiving in my neck of the woods. I really want it for the weekend! Edit: well, it's not looking good. No news from the dealer so I'll have a long weekend without it. damn...

Well I picked up the amp tonight from the dealer. I get it now. It really does sound great, very open. Notes and chords ring out and musically too. I was initially concerned about the lack of grit when the volume was cranked with master down low but as I fiddled with the tone stack, the boost and guitar volume I got what I wanted and it really sounded awesome. I'm actually on a bit of a high after hearing it. I can tell that it will cut in a gig situation. Can I get the range of drive needed for the band without pedals? I don't know but I'm going to try and it may not matter given how good it sounds. I'm taking it back to my wee apartment now so any playing I do will have to be whisper quiet (airbrake). I won't get to test it at volume until Thursday at practice. Tone report updates to follow. Here she is with her new family...

Nice pic. Wait until you play it live. You will be blown away. I play strats and I don't even use pedals with mine. Just the boost. The articulation of the notes and the crunch and growl is all there right at your fingertips. i keep the boost on all the time. Congrats on the amp you have a real nice set up.

... and no need for the Airbrake, the Master is great. I have it barely cracked, like a hair less and the amp is off and it sounds great. Mind you I am also running with the boost pedal engaged, it sounds a bit squished at this volume level without it. I put it on the 40 watt setting for a few minutes and it sounded even more full but obviously louder which is not what I need tonight :-). Also, as others have mentioned the reverb and trem are really nice.
Now about a slip cover, who makes those?

Thanks for the link! I've ordered one. Man, the exchange rate is really painful at the moment 💰😔.
