I been wanting to try a therapy out for the longest time. And once again bought the amp based on you guys here on the forum hyping it up. I can honestly say now I know that you all have a good ear for tone and want to thank you for your advise. I got a fantastic deal on a used head and cab and I couldn't be happier with them both the smell of new tolex is still is in the air. I took my Therapy to church today for the first time and really got to open it up. Wow what a fat blooming tone. No need for pedals either. I could def gig this amp without any pedals. Maybe a boost though.
This is the way a good tube amp is suppose to sound. Real rich and harmonic. The notes just bloom off the fret board. Having this amp and the Z-Lux I think Im pretty much covered when it comes to amps now. I can def understand why all you guys have raved so much about this amp. It def delivers the tone. I really liked what I heard and felt today. The touch response of the therapy is awesome. I was able to get whatever I needed out of it just by manipulating my guitars tone controls. What a great amp. It has a good crunchy tone and also a really good sustain on the notes. Plus the clean tone is also great. I really got to experiment with the mids and found what you guys have said about cranking the mids up and what it does to the tone. The Eq section of this amp is where the magic is. Its a great amp and I honestly could not find a bad tone in it anywhere.

Great report, Randy...I'm happy for you, man!!! Think about trying what I do for some gigs. I've got a Therapy and a Z-Lux too, and those two amps are a BLAST when I hook 'em both up with the Tonebone Headbone amp switcher. I put the Therapy head on top of my Z-Lux combo and switch between the two heads into the Z12 that's in the Z-Lux combo. Killer setup...using the 'Lux for nice sweet to hairy rhythm parts and kick on the Therapy for leads. Lots of fun.

Together they would be awesome.

I think the real problem is that ALL the Z amps sound great, are touch responsive and can be gigged pretty much guitar and amp.....it's easy for us to recommend each amp because they all sound great .
But each amp inspires diffently to me, like guitars do......the special thing about the Therapy to me has been is flexibility of tonal range....saving me bucks on buying new amps for sure. I'll add that running it through the Z Verb really compliments this amp.....just sweetens up the sound ...softening the attack a bit and adding even more sustain.
The Monza is still my favorite lead sound ever....I've had two and should have kept one of them. But I can get into Monza territory with the Mids and Bass on the Therapy....just not the same as those EL84's.
Enjoy the pairing...verb, trem, stereo.....nice

Once you play handwired amps you get spoiled. Even my Vibro Kings had that same quality. Your description of the reverb with the therapy sounds like the Z-Lux. The Z amps I have had in the past all impressed me and they all sounded good they all had that feel some different than others but all good.
