Big day here at Riverhouse Studio! It's NAD!!!! Got John's Carmen Ghia combo in today and I cannot stop playing it! Been cranking every sorta tune thru it for over two hours now, and this little 1-10" monster simply rocks. Beautiful chime, beautiful distortion, beautiful cleans when you dial down the guitar volume, does everything I could ever need or hope for in a grab and go format that is guitar-player-heaven. My Tele sounds simply superb through it. What you guys have been saying for years is absolutely true! This is truly a great amp. I am blessed.
John, you have set up a magnificent amp here! I can't thank you enough for passing it down to me. I can feel your copious mojo flowing through this beauty the whole time. (I might need the hat, next, though.)
Best part is, I have a rare gig this weekend, so I'll be able to gig this lil beauty before the week's out. This Ghia, jeez! Two knobs, the tone that is in my soul right here in the Doc's amp that started it all. Is this is as close to a mini-Wreck as one could hope for? Possibly!!!
nuff gushing. I gotta go back to the studio.
a happy jj
and Doc, nice job. Thanks for having created yet another great amp that allows me to speak musically through. You are genius.

I gotta throw a shout out to Easttexas who wrote the best quote in the "I think I need a Ghia" thread I started over in the Ghia section .
He said about the Ghia: "If you think you might need one...you need one. On the other hand, if you don't think you need one...you still need one. It's just a great little amp."
THAT is classic. And turns out, it's true. I see what you mean, my friend.

As you know, Doc's amps have a way of getting those responses.

You're right it's a cracking amp! (English slang). Actually I feel a bit of an idiot, as I've owned my Ghia head for a few years but always prefer to take my Maz to a gig, and kept the Ghia as a backup. Well, a few weeks ago the guy I bought the Ghia from, and who I've kept in touch with, decided to come down to the South coast for a bit of a break, and come to a gig while he was here. So, I took the Ghia, and I have to say it sounded great. Even better, I took my newly acquired Z-Drive, and the two together just sang. I still love the Maz, but I have a new found respect for the Ghia, and will definitely use it a lot more often from now on.
Sorry to hi jack the thread temporarily, just though it a story worth telling!
