Well guys you sold me. I been reading all the rave reviews here on the forum and I finally broke down and got me a therapy. What sold me on this amp was the description of the cleans and also the overdrive that this amp produces. I like those slightly broken up tones. I am a strat guy through and through. So I am really excited to get my hands on this amp. I will be running it into a Z 1/12 Cab with the Z speaker in it. Im excited. Thank you all for your posts.

slightly broken up tones > this, combined with the fact you can control your overall volume and still achieve "slightly broken up tones", is what makes it an outstanding amp, imho.
Oh, and, congrats.

Well the Therapy has me thinking I might sell my LP....the Strat is sounding soooo nice. What color? I got a Black one all tolex and a Black cab with the Dr Z speaker in it got a great deal on a mint used cab off of Reverb. I know the V30 is suppose to be a great speaker with this amp but I don't like the V30. So I was glad this cab had the Z speaker. I read that the Doc said it was a good choice with the Therapy. I know it sure sounds good with the Z-lux. Thats funny I ended up selling my Les Paul a while ago as well. I really like the les paul but everytime I would play it live I would be wishing I had my strat. The strat is so versatile you can cut through the mix so much better and all you need is a fuzz or a overdrive to get some dirt. But lately I enjoy plugging straight in and getting all my tone from the amp and the guitar nobs. It is so much better. Especially with these Z amps they are so touch responsive and articulate. You cant go wrong with them.

I love my Ghia....loved my Ghia with the LP and don't hate it with the Therapy but when I plug my Strat in it feels like a blanket was taken off...like Randy said, it just cuts thru.

The remedy and some greenbacks or a creamback was pretty darn good. But I still prefer my strat even with that set up. I don't have my remedy anymore either. But that is a great amp too. It was one of my favorites for a long time.

Man, I have run about every style guitar out of the Therapy. I agree that it can really shine with single coils but I settled with a 336. If my 336 was not available I would take a tele or a P90 guitar.

If my 336 was not available I would take a tele or a P90 guitar. Yeah, it's all personal taste. I tried very hard to like it since I special ordered a Therapy from my dealer. However, in the end, it was not what I was expecting with my LP. It was fabulous with a Strat but I wanted something that screamed with a LP....which it didn't. In all fairness, I pre-ordered the amp based on hype and early adopter descriptions. However, if I had waited for the first demos and even Doc's description of the amp I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place since I would have known it wasn't what I initially thought it was. However, it is pretty bold amp with single coils !

I do like the LP with the Therapy but in a different way.....some of it is the fact that I see the fret board better on a Strat....but I think the Therapy and LP scream....but maybe it's to ratty for some...the tweed connection.
Here is LP w/P90's and Therapy cranked up...not pedals
but the smooth Strat tones have been really getting me ....like below

I'm not a fan of the 'ratty' distortion and it's exactly why I didn't bond with it. its a personal taste thing.....

I just got a P-90 guitar in may,and I LOVE it with the Therapy-I hardly ever break out my S-500 anymore,I stand there and strum an A chord for a half hour and grin.It just sounds so RIGHT.

I am using an ES-335 Memphis and a Strat with my Therapy and the only adjustment to the controls is I turn down the bass just a little with the 335, both sound amazing. I recently rewired the 335 with a new harness, Jensen tone caps in the 50's configuration and damn it really sounds good with my Therapy.

I'm thinking some wiring adjustments would help my LP....I think so of my hearing is effected by my rekindled love of the Strat...a bias due to feel maybe.

Does your tribute have the 490R and 498T humbuckers like the new ones? Those are my favorite Gibbie pickups, but you have to fiddle with them a little. I really like having the bridge pickup lower than average (less than 3/64") otherwise, it can get a bit bassy. I also use a brighter speaker and wind the treble up on the Therapy when I use the Lester.

I tracked the cab and it looks like I may not get it until Tomorrow as well. I got a awesome deal on a used Cab with the Z speaker in it! It black with the gold/tan grille clothe and the Head is black tolex. I am stoked. I been playing my Z-lux and It is continuing to amaze me but i am looking forward to the therapy.

Therapy will soon commence then....the EQ is really interesting on this amp...each frequency really acts like a boost for itself. The Treble and Mids can operate separately or together for a wide flavor of tonality. The Mids could of been labeled 'British' and the Treble 'American' with the Bass knob effecting the low end as well as adding a smoothness .... Try this if you like MV- Full On Vol- at 9 o'clock With the B, M, and T all at zero...the amp will be silent...then engage each EQ by itself and hear the crazy range of effect each knob has by itself.... One more day...yahoo!
