Sounded great--fun little 1-setter sharing the night with two other bands. Ran most of the night with Marilyn the chambered R7 (not pictured) through a Jetter GS-124 and a touch of el Cap for delay. The rig: If you ever play at HoR, whatever you do, don't sit on the couch in the green room.

So, Were you fiddling with the knobs all set or did you get it dialed in immediately?

The couch in the Green Room. That's a new chapter to some distorted novel.

So, Were you fiddling with the knobs all set or did you get it dialed in immediately? Got her dialed in pretty close in practice, did the rest in sound check. This is not an amp with a ton of headroom, so it's been a bit of an adjustment after the M12 and the EZG as my main Zs the last few months. It's got a pretty hot front end and doesn't like to be pushed real aggressively with pedals at gig volume, so the main adjustment is finding the right guitar>OD>V/MV combination. We've got some video coming--not sure about the sound quality yet, but I did get a clip shot by a friend on iPhone and it sounds good. Also, I used my wireless rig and was able to get out into the room a bit as we were playing and liked what I heard. Will post a clip or two tomorrow, maybe.

Nope--you might be seeing the base of the mic stand there on the left, and my guitar stand on the right.

That settings did you end up with, Jon? Hi Mike-- Half power, V 9:00, T 10:00, M and B 1:00, MV 12:00, Rev 9:00. Was hoping to run at full power but the stage volume was a bit overwhelming. We lucked out with the sound man--clearly a very experienced guy (impressed by the Z-Lux--"can't go wrong with a Dr Z," he said), had us set up in no time, no drama, no requests to turn down (they have regular metal nights there, so I imagine my rig probably looked pretty tame compared to the Marshalls and Triple Rectumfryers they get every pther Thursday, or whenever). Sounded good on stage and FoH. Other pluses: they had good bourbon (Maker's and, surprisingly, Woodford Reserve), the crowd was friendly and receptive, compliments on my playing and tone and our young female singer's voice, which is awesome, and the band that followed us got heckled a bit for being boring, which they were--always fun--plus their mix wasn't great because their front man pissed off the sound guy we'd gone out of our way to befriend. The third act was awesome--fronted by our drummer's daughter, a young woman who took my advanced poetry-writing class a few years ago--she's kind of nouveau-alt-hipster but writes really interesting, smart, quirky lyrics and has a great voice and weird/cool melodic sense, so it was worth staying up late to hear her. Fun night all around.

So, just a reminder that this is our fist time playing out with our young vocalist. Also, sorry about all the wrong notes and the uncontrollable stage wandering. And the sound quality--video shot on flipcam.
