I just noticed that my CG is louder than my Therapy. Is this a common symptom of power tubes needing replacing in my Therapy?

As long as everything going to it has been checked, it would be the first place I would start.

Sounds like a plan, I have some new Groove Tubes (not at all my choice in tunes) but their here, so I'll try them out.

same speaker for both? Speaker efficiency can make a big difference. Also, the Ghia is a brighter amp than the much mellower Therapy. Tubes seem logical but a bottle up amp out put should last a really long time. You should keep spares anyway so it wouldn't be a waste trying a new set and see if that helps. my 2 cents, Todd

Yes same speaker, I run a 1x12 creamback 65 Z can with both amps.

The Ghia is a loud little sucker, make no mistake! And such a bright, 3D sound (I miss mine if truth be told), and at 18W it's only half the Wattage of the Therapy (which as you know does not equate to half the volume - far from it!). Maybe your ears perceive the brightness of the Ghia more clearly than the darker Therapy.
Set everything at noon on both amps and see if there's much of a difference.............in tone as well as volume. The Therapy should be darker. Try either toning the Ghia down so they have similar fatness, or brighten the Therapy up. Now check the volume, with your ears and a dB metre if you have one.
That being said, I would put my Therapy as noticeably louder than my Ghia - not massively, but noticeably, so yes, check out the power tubes (how many hours are on them?)

Comparing volumes seems very difficult to me. Diming everything might be the best way otherwise there would be so many variables, such as the taper of the volume pots, gain of the eq stack, etc. And like others have said it wouldn't be that noticeable even if everything is working fine. Are you switching back and forth instantly with some sort of switcher? If not, I really doubt you could tell an actual difference without out some measuring device or something to compare it to.

I think the issue is in fact that the Ghia is a loud little monster lol. I threw some new power tubes in the Therapy and I'm pretty sure all is normal as there was no volume effect. The Therapy wakes up with the master at 2 o'clock and beyond.
Don't get me wrong, both amps are amazing, just different animals. The only tube replacement that my Therapy has had since I bought it almost a year ago is the V2, so maybe it is time for all new tubes. The Ghia is still new so no tube issues there.

The 18 watt Ghia is a loud little sucker! But not quite as loud as a Maz 18. However, my Therapy is considerably louder, more powerful and beefier than either of those 18 watt offerings.

Come to think of it, I ran my Ghia through a Red Fang, whereas my Therapy is through a Governor.........that would make a BIG difference! The Therapy through the Red Fang would definitely be much louder...............
