I ordered a set for my Maz Jr in January/February. Perry was a wonder to work with and even found a good mullard gz34 for me!

Hey Z-Tone'ers, have had inquiries asking if these are still available, yes (and yes they are what Z is currently using in Z-Wrecks and MAZ Jr), same deal as the original post in the 'News from Dr Z' section: 6N14N Tubes For Your Z

Hey Z friends, wanted to post an update, still have NOS 6n14n, exactly same as the ones Dr Z uses. I’ve got a good supply so dont feel pressed to stock up. I ship next day most the time. International shipping has gotten really expensive and hardly justifiable to ship a pair , or even a quad international. I sent a Quad recently to UK, first class and it was $31 insured on Reverb, crazy. Thought id post a few pictures, first is of a fresh box i received yesterday from my buddy in Russia. You see, he finds them, lets me know how much, then he has another buddy send me a Paypal Invoice. Then he tells his source that the money is on the way and tries to get his source to ‘front’ the goods... so I dont have to wait for the funds to clear, than transfer to the source, then ship to my buddy so he can ship them to me lol! So on this last order I paid about 6 weeks ago and then lost contact with my Buddy (who i know nothing about), fortunately he found me on Facebook and PM’d me, apparently email broke lol again. Trust me friends, finding these in NOS original bulk packaging is not EZ! And it feels pretty risky sending $ at times, but oh well, in the name of TONE! I process these 200 at a time because thats how many are in a factory bulk pack. I sequentially number and measure each tube. The first measurement is a ballpark measurement, making sure they light up and checking for shorts or other obvious issues. I number them so if one fails I have record and can provide a suitable match. Next step is burn in, I group them based on the first measurements, and run them for 6 hours, check for red plating and any weird idle noise. Of note is that ive NEVER had one red plate on the burn in, and maybe had just 1 or 2 make any noise.. out of the many boxes that ive tested. The quality control on these before packaging is outstanding. After burn in i measure again, and this is careful measurement. The Maximatcher holds 4 at a time so each tube gets several minutes of warmup and i make sure the numbers are stable before I record. During this process i have the AC on a variac while monitoring and riding the voltage at 120v so the measurements are consistent and repeatable (at least within the spec of the tester). In this picture (processing a box right now) the 'tops up' are done, the 'pins up' are ready for burn in, and the ones laying down are 'burned in' and awaiting final measurements. All the processing helps insure nice matches and low failure rate (which is next to null). Thanks for all the support!

Thanks for posting and for what you do for all of us el84 fans. I must say, I appreciate the risks you take getting these. Reminds me of another line of work where the risks are high, but the product isn’t legal 😎. Stay safe!

Great info Perry. I’ve purchased several times from Perry. You can’t find a more reliable source for a really reliable product. Thanks for sharing.

The tube designation is really 6π14π. The Cyrillic (Russian) alphabet uses the pi symbol π that is sounded as "P". To us it looks like an N, but it's really a P. The way to get the π to appear is using the ASCII code ALT227.
I can attest to the quality of Perry's service and the quality of the tubes. I have a pair that I won't be able to use since I sold my MAZ. PM if you're interested.
Edit: When I was typing the message the pi symbol looked like pi, when I entered I saw that it looked like n. At any rate 6p14p and 6n14n are the same thing. I'm glad I don't have to translate Russian language.
