Hello, new forum member and DR. Z owner here. Can not say enough good about this amplifier. A bad sound really cant get coaxed out of this thing. In the past i have owned two orange amps, a bugera, (my first tube amp, and really not that bad for the money),a boogie mark 4(hated that thing from day one), and currently own two vintage fenders, twin and super reverbs, a 76 marshall 1960, very rare and an 82 4210. That being said, I am not here to brag about how much money I have wasted in the past, but rather to convey how truly amazing Z amps are. They trump all that other stuff bar none. I also have wired up a handful of my own little amps and restored a few others with Ken Fischer being an inspiration with his minimalist less is more mentality in regards to tone which i believe the Z man shares (which we all know is truth btw). Anyway, just wanted to say sup' and Z amps really are worth the hype and praise given them. Maybe I will sell off some stuff and get an antidote

Welcome to the Forum Dave! A lot of great people and information here. A great amp. Does your Remedy have the MV/EQ bypass? Does make it a lot more versatile. The Antidote would be a great second amp - but you have to put your "big boy pants" on to play it! Where do you live? We're having a little mini-Zfest here in S.E. Michigan on August 20th - you can try out most Z amps to see what you might be interested in. And yes, I do have an Antidote here.

Welcome to the forum.
I would think the Antidote will too similar in tone for a next purchase. (unless you WANT something close)
How about an el84 amp? Either the Ghia or the Maz Jr.

mine has the mv which i think works incredibly well. the eq bypass feature is there but i havnt used it much yet to say im crazy about it. i live in western maryland, i saw about your shindig on here but i doubt i make it up. and yes the antidote is similar but i love the features. im a plexi guy, and have some ab763 circuits to cover the blackface thing. plus i am currently converting 4 ao35 chassis to do the ghia thing. in fact thats how i came across the z stuff. im always looking for new projects and got reading about dr. z's start in this. i am a tech nerd and a life long player. as for another amp anytime soon we will see. probobly cant afford a z wreck but have always wanted to build an el34 trainwreck(express) which i will someday do when i get my workbench cleared off.

The Antidote is in the JTM 45 camp but a bit more versatile with the vintage/modern switch. One of my favorite Zs!

It's tough to just have one Z amp. Welcome to the forum!! The Antidote is an amazing amp but like John said above it is a very simular sound to the Remedy. The KT66'S are a bit fatter sounding and the vintage switch is very cool. Enjoy your Remedy for a while, it's a great amp and will do a lot of stuff!! Todd

I would like to make a correction to my above post. My marshall is a 1964 not a 1960 which i realize is a cabinet
