How would a Monza do for Paisley style country tones while playing at home with the mv at lower volumes? Too much gain? The tones on the new DB4 sound close to the Monza to me just from what I hear in YouTube videos. I run a Ego Compressor and a Wampler Hot Wired pedal now but probably don't need the hot wired with the Monza. What are your guys opinions? If not the Monza, which amp? I only play at home.

I would think the M12 would be a better bet for Paisley sounds than the Monza.

Maybe a Carmen Ghia because of the simple controls?

Hmm... I wouldn't say that the Monza is NOT suitable for rocked-up country, but it definitely wasn't my first thought. However, it could work very well for you because the Monza is (A) dark-ish, like the DB4 and (B) has an excellent master-volume to keep the volume down. And no, the Monza isn't "too much" gain—it sounds great even in its low-overdrive range.
The Carmen Ghia could definitely be another option. Though, I would absolutely consider a Brake Lite with it, as it doesn't have a master volume and could use a little attenuation in most at-home situations.

For home use it makes lots of sense, if you like that chimey cleanish articulate resonant EL84 type tone. .. Something magical happens when you max out the MV. it breaths. Comes alive if you will. The way I find that home volume level is to start there. VOL: 9 o'clock DRIVE: 3 o'clock TONE: (to taste) MV: turn it down until it feels comfortable for the others who are home. The amp really sounds best when it's loud.
