A while back I found myself in a store with a buddy who was shopping for amps & had no clue what he wanted -- so, we were plugging up everything. Salesperson said "you've GOTTA hear this one..." I'm thinking, yeah right - it's another amp. I need another amp like another hole in my head. Plugged in a Monza & I kept getting this nice, tight, compressed, smooth tone a la David Grissom. Naturally I agree it's badass and tried to move forward. Could NOT stop thinking about it. Missed a 1x10 combo here because a piece of gear wasn't sold yet, and I was determined not to miss the next deal. Found a red 1x12 Monza and it'll be in my hands in a few hours.... I can't wait to plug up my DGT into that bad boy & let it rip!!!!!! I've also got a Carr Slant 6V, PRS H into a 2x12 Slant cab w/C.Rex, and a local built 4x10 currently only loaded with a pair of Lil Buddy speakers. Tons of pedals, but tending to use fewer pedals lately. I think I'll have Fender-ish tones, a super versatile head (PRS), and now big & mean chime machine to fill out the herd.. I'm sure I'm going to love it as much as I think I will...

Congrats - it's a looker for sure. And it's louder than other Monzas because it's red!

Looks great! What speaker does it have in it? Mine's a 1x10 Red Fang.

I've owned two Monzas....and that sound is very hard to get out of your head. On my local Craigslist I saw a Monza yesterday and immediately started thinking,' could I trade my Strat for it? '. I've had the 1x10 twice...I think IF I got another I'd go 1x12. Red looks great. Congrats.

Sh*t, it's LOUD!!!!!! I took it to work last week so I could crank it up after hours.... Sounds great, as I knew it would - but, I'm s lil worried it's too loud to ever use at home (justify keeping).
Lots say that the MV & brake lite are redundant together... When I tried one in a shop, it had both MV & brake lite. Maybe they're really not that redundant??

I don't find MV and BrakeLite redundant. They compliment each other and allow for variations of tone that neither can achieve alone. ME

The MV on the Monza is really, really good. Probably Doc's best PPIMV. I guess it all depends on how you set the preamp gain. I run mine fairly dirty, so by the time the power tubes really get cooking, it's starting to mush out. For home use and experimentation, I did like the Brake Lite on two clicks and the master a little more open, however, it's so darn close just running the MV lower with no Brake Lite. Maybe my ears were playign tricks on me. Regardless, the Brake Lite went in my new 1x12 convertible cab.
