So I have a Maz 8 Studio Combo with a WGS Black and Blue that I love. It is the right size, right wattage, and it is surf green, so right color. However, I finally got around to plugging it into my Z 1x12" with a 60 watt Scuminco and the difference in tone was night and day. There was more low end, more body. So my conundrum is how do I add that body to the Studio combo? And if that is not possible, is it crazy to think about getting standard size combo cab?

I found with my Maz 8 that changing the speaker to a 65 watt Creamback increased the body and fattened up the mids. But there's really no substitute for actual cabinet volume (as in physical size). A larger cab is going to usually develop better bass response. Is your 1x12 Scumnico open or closed back?

I usually play lower volume gigs (church, small gatherings) with my Maz 8. But, at Dave's suggestion in a previous thread, I took out the G12h and put a Creamback in it and it is fat and full. I also went back to using the high input instead of the low - my thought was the low would allow me to get more out of the amp. Not so. I used it this morning with my Legacy and either a Timmy, Animal, or Flying Dragon Boost, and it rocked. It was even sitting on an Auralux Gamma Pad but the bottom was very present. I had tons of compliments from the other musicians re my "8 watt amp".
