#1 rule with any Dr. Z amp--don't be afraid to turn ANY knob either way up or way down, including totally "off." There's nowhere really within these EQ knobs that you "shouldn't be." I often look away from the amp once my hand is on an EQ knob, because I don't want my eyes to tell me where that knob should or shouldn't be pointing.

Finally got to drop this amp off at Slemmons'.. I've got to say, that is one cool dude. He's going to hook the boost back up and then hook the other jack of the effects loop up to the expand switch so I could have another quasi-boost-lead type thing going. I think that will be pretty cool.
If any of you all in the DFW area ever need something minor done, this guy seems to know his stuff. I'll report back when I get the amp in a few weeks, but he's seen some cool stuff come through his shop!

So, got the amp back. Clean bill of health. Apparently the guy who had the effects loop put in also compensated for the boost by trying to modify the circuit with extra gain... Along with a bunch of other extraneous stuff in an attempt to get the effects loop to be usable, which it wasn't. Now it's back to stock! And I had him use that extra jack for the Expand, so I can foot switch that as well. He was super impressed with the amp. This guy has seen Milkmans, Dumbles, etc. run through his shop and he still really liked this thing, so props to the Doc! Too bad I need to downsize now =(
