On my Maz Jr 1-12, I set my volume on 9:00, my treble on 10:30, bass on 2:30, mids at 12:00 with a humbucker and as high as 3:00 with single coils, master as needed and cut at 9:00 with SCs and 11:00 with HBs. I use pedals for dirt.
How bout you?

V-12, T-10, M-10, B-12:30, C-12:30, M- depends on the room, R- to taste I set it and forget it. These settings work for everything, this weekend I used a vintage Gretsch w/ filtertrons and a vintage Rickenbacker, they both sounded just lovely.
Peace, TK

The MAZ jr. has an incredible capacity for producing a "dirty" sound with no help from pedals. I have tons of pedals that just are not getting used anymore.
Try setting your amp as follows, particularly for use with humbuckers and let 'er rip: volume - all the way up treble - all the way down to start, ease it up slow mids - all the way up bass - all the way up m. vol. - start at about 9:00 and adjust from there cut - depends on the room reverb - start pretty dry, add to your liking

j rudder , you have have it nailed, this works fantastic with a 38 senior. i had never tried the treble all the way down, mids and bass maxed with the volume maxed. this is a great find for me. i had often thought about selling this amp until this. your settings not only work for the 18 but for the 38. you can balance out any lows with the cut control. thanks for the tip.
