My son plays in an indie/shoegaze band,so of course he plays a jazzmaster-a mexican classic player, all stock.I had it in the house this week to change strings and intonate etc.My Therapy still has 6v6's in it,and straight into the amp OMG,it was glorious.Very very close to the guitar tone on the Yahoos's For Cryin Out Loud.
So,I am eyeballin a p-90 guitar, any opinions about jazzmaster pups vs p-90's?Are they similar?

I'm a big JM and P-90 fan. The basic construction of P-90s and traditional JM pups is completely different and I don't find them to sound too similar but I've also had them in very different guitars (JM vs ES-330 and R6). Not sure what kind of pups are in the MIM JM. I know the MIJ\CIJ JM stock pups were bascally strat pups under JM sized covers and sounded nothing like traditional JM pups. A JM is a fairly unique sounding guitar between the trem\bridge\pups.

Pete will be able to tell you how great P90s are with the Therapy since I think he plays a LP Special with P90s (although now he's rocking a SG).

Pete will indeed - and he's ricking both an SG and an LPS with Lollar P90s Basically, to my mind, there's very very little the Therapy CAN'T do, but it definitely has that ballsy thing going on, and takes whatever pickup you have and makes it sound "more" ................. so the P90s just BITE, yet it's a a full, rich bite, not harsh in any way..........perfect for Indie stuff. Sure, you can balance the MV and V to get a good clean sound, and it is good, but I LOVE the harmonic overtones of the Therapy, so always end up with some hair on the notes, or in my case, a decent well trimmed beard on the notes

to dredge this back up-last month I picked up a Reverend Sensei jr,a single p-90 guitar, and it is GREAT.A rock and roll machine, there is not a style of rock and roll from 1955-1980 this thing can't do.It flows with the Therapy beautifully,at ALL settings. While playing the heck out of this thing I tripped over a Therapy setting I haven't used before-it is ROCK in all caps, rageing full on. Master-1:00 Bass-11:00 Mid-2:00 Treble-OFF.Counter clockwise to the max Volume-3:00
I checked this with my strat style single coil guitar too just to be sure-it loves it also.I don't have a Humbucker guitar right now,so I can't talk about that. But give it a ride, use the Guitar Vol as gain control, and enjoy!

Oh man I'd been thinking about a Sensei Jr for a while so I'm glad to hear that you dig it! (I recently picked up something similar, single pup P90 guitar and love it through the Therapy.)
I've never tried turning the Treble to zero. Interesting!

I've been thinking about a Tricky Gomez 290 ....but Reverends in general have been on my want list for awhile. Luckily the Therapy is satisfying my amp itch with its flexible sound machinations ....lets see a pic of the Sensei JR. If you will
