I've had my Therapy for about a year and a half and I've used it almost exclusively as a 'dirty' amp. Only recently have I cranked the Master up all the way and done some serious playing. Man, what a revelation that is...I was trying out my new drive pedal (Bogner Ecstacy Red) and wanted to compare it to the Z-Lux, so I turned the Volume way down and the Master way up on the Therapy, into a 1x12 Z cab. It was ten minutes before I could turn on the drive pedal...I was greeted by thick, chewy, rich, clear, bright, harmonically awesome tone from the Therapy that was so good I didn't want to leave it! I'm sure it's been said but what a versatile beast this thing is. It covers so much ground that I feel like a dope having not found out about the cleans before now. And what really is nuts is how touch sensitive the amp is. With the Master up, it's unbelievable how it responds to my pick input. The higher the Volume setting, the more it reacts to touch. There is no hiding behind the curtain with the Therapy. It has no mercy for sloppy playing but does she ever reward good technique!

does she ever reward good technique! I wouldn't know about that. That said, the last few amps Doc has released have been a lot more forgiving to us mortals. The Therapy being the first that I really noticed. That said, I don't mind being pushed to play better either. Nothing wrong with good form.

Yeah, it's loud, but the sounds are otherworldly.

Yes, yes...exactly. That's where the touch sensitivity comes into its own, and the louder the better. Otherworldly is the word.

That said, I don't mind being pushed to play better either. Nothing wrong with good form. Playing ability and how the Therapy supposedly was unforgiving if the player lacks chops was a factor when I bought the amp.I was pleased to find that It still sounded good with my sloppy playing.clean, dirty, all over the range of sounds. And I have also been pushed to make my chord shapes better.

I love the slight break up I get from the Therapy. I usually have the V between 10-12 with the pedal board. If I plug straight in it is usually 12-2.
Therapy is the most forgiving Z amp I have owned.

I agree that it's forgiving when the volume is up/master down and it's dirty, I find it to be very revealing when the master is up and the volume down. Not that it's unforgiving, but it does reveal everything I do, good or bad...it's just really dynamic in a great way.

I like it both ways. It's nice than it can be set clean and loud with humburglars and use pedals, or set up loud and dirty and use the guitar volume. That's always been tough for me with a Les Paul. A lot of medium wattage amps don't have enough clean in them for me, but this guy does. And its got the dirt. It does it all nicely. It's a great amp.

Website/Advertisement quote for sure.

If you hit the right speaker setup, the better that is the more unforgiving the amp becomes. Having played Z for over 10 years you get used to it..makes other amps seem lifeless and unresponsive.
