It's perfect--I mean perfect--for the at-home playing that's about 90% of what I'm doing these days, and would also easily cover my current band situation, which is a not-loud trio with a wimpy-hitting drummer. As a guy with a serious pedal addiction, the M12 is a perfect blank slate for experimenting with and refining one's tone with a variety of pedal setups and guitars. So, while I'm intrigued by Doc's Baby Ray mods, I wouldn't want to mess with the special mojo my M12 gives me every day for an hour or so of pedal-induced euphoria. Seriously thinking about getting another M12 head as a backup, and/or for a two-amp rig.

The M12 is a very special amp! So many colors to paint with via pedals that you can just about coax any tone out of it you want.

Agreed, Jon! I've gone on record here several times about how practice-space-friendly the M12 is, but yet it's still got all that wonderful chime of a much louder amp.
