I picked up SIMO's new release last week - Let Love Show the Way - and have been enjoying it quite a bit. JD Simo is a monster guitar player and the record really showcases what he can do (although maybe too much at times). It feels like a live recording, like you're there in the room with them, and that's probably my favorite part about the album - how it was recorded. You can hear everything and a player like JD is meant to be heard in all of the little details. All three guys in this band are excellent and they get some amazing textures with just their instruments (i.e., no studio tricks or heavy effects). If you're into that 60's blues rock, classic rock, psychedelic thing, then this band is right up your alley.

We were on a blues cruise a couple weeks ago and JD was one of the performers. Got to hear him three different times - love his style! 100 watt Plexi full stacks - loud but amazing! He reminds me of a cross between early Clapton/Cream and early Page - and he loves playing!
