Hey all, new guy here! Just purchased my first Z (Maz 18) and was wondering if the Z Drive would give me the same "Z" tone put in front of other amps? Most of the demos I have seen are with Z amps and I am looking for something that would be a good bolster with the Maz as well as keeping some consistency with back line amps. And help is appreciated!!

Welcome!!!
The Z Drive is a great pedal. It has that signature Z flavor, but in my opinion, it's best at coaxing out more of whatever amp it's placed in front of. I've had 4 Z Amps and that's been true for all of them.

I 2nd what Frank said. I've played the zdrive with fender bassman and fender blues jr. Sounds killer with all! I think it's very "transparent"(over used word) an extention of your amp's sound. I loved the Z-drive so much I sold a timmy, a Paisley drive, and a BB and bought a 2nd Z-drive pedal for my practice pedalboard.

I used the Z-Drive today with a little Roland Cube amp. I wasn't expecting much; to be honest, I was testing a splitter with a One-Spot power supply. But wow, that Red side burned down the house! I was almost late for an appointment.
