Hello, first post here!
I am having a hard time deciding between the two, but I'm leaning towards the M12 of course. Any thoughts on the swart vs the M12, I know they are completely different amps, but maybe someone out there has played one, etc. *I guess the MAZ 18 would be a better comparison to the Swart, I started to look at the MAZ 18 as a possible option.
I have been selling off a ton of gear to buy a new amp, as things have changed drastically since I started playing the guitar… I switched from the drums. I used to just play gtr around the house mostly recording / songwriting, now I'm playing out live and currently recording my bands first album. I play rhythm guitar, so no leads, but perhaps I could work my way in to that at some point.
Anyhow, my old amp was a low wattage head and cab / dirty style amp, recording & no pedals. Now of course I have a pedal board and all my research brought me to the M12. I'm currently tracking through our lead players Carmen Ghia and my Vox heritage cab with the Celestion blue speaker. Unfortunately I had already tracked all my parts with the old amp -then our producer heard the Ghia and made me go back and re-track / double-track one tune, he loved the tone --I wish I had put that amp up first! I have been thinking about keeping the cab and scooping up the M12 head, but I really want to try to go back to a combo to save space in my pack. I notice the blue speaker is an option, so how does that compare to the other speaker options? Should I just keep the cab and suck it up in terms of space? What about the 10" speaker version? A little cheaper and smaller, everyone in the band is on IEM's, so I don't need to be that loud on stage, the 10" may work. I just have a hard time thinking that a 1 10" would keep up, but that's mainly because I'm so programmed to go for the 12".
So many choices!
Thanks,
