Hey all, My favorite amp ever is my EZG-50 with a 4x10 cab. I also have a Z28 combo that I use for smaller gigs... Equally awesome. I've just sold an amp (My Remedy, which I just couldn't bond with), and I'm ready to buy a new Z! Any suggestions? I play a Fano SP6, which is basically just a short scale tele. And I play primarily blues/rock. I want another higher wattage amp. I'm looking at an Anitdote, KT45 or maybe a Stang Ray. What do y'all think? Cheers!

Antidote is the most versatile of the group you named - great sounding with humbuckers or strats

Well, a Therapy would be a great one to look at.

I'm leaning Route 66 for my next Z. Every clip I've ever heard has sounded great. Not high wattage, but big bottles and apparently super loud.

Antidote is the most versatile of the group you named - great sounding with humbuckers or strats I agree. A caveat: Since there is some similarity with the Remedy, i.e., both amps are Doc's take on certain vintage Marshall-type tones, what was it about the Remedy that you couldn't bond with?

If that's the case. Then maybe the Antidote isn't for me. I don't play a strat or any guitars with humbuckers.

If you're playing a short-scale Tele and you like the EZG and the Z-28, both great amps, then I think maybe the KT45 is your best bet. It's the grandpa amp to the Z-28, same front end, end you'll get big, thick cleans like the Route 66, but louder. If you use pedals, they'll interact beautifully with the KT45's front end.

The KT45 was one I was seriously considering. I like loud and clean.

Loud and clean might be the Stingray.
Th cleans on the Antidote are thick and fat and it will go mean too if you want it. Can be a little fussy to dial in but worth it.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Z Lux. 40 watts and sounds awesome.
