Just received a 2009 EzG off of Reverb, got it for 1050$ shipped. Thought that was a pretty good price, black, oval front in excellent condition. I had been interested in this amp off and on for a long time, really liked some of the vids i had viewed on it. Originally, I was trying to buy an early 70's twin reverb, but the seller failed to ship, so refund ensued, and i hoped on the Z train. Its pre-bass mod, and I may explore getting that done at some point, but i dont know if its really necessary right now...still an option, later. So far, I like it, and just exploring the tones with my guitars, and it makes a nice contrast to the Route 66 I've been rocking out lately...anywho, just sharing

Wow, congrats mikethebike500--you got that baby at a great price! The secret to amazing tone that I learned with my EZG? If you want awesome overdrive, don't just crank the Pre- and lower the Post-volumes and expect the amp to generate overdrive in the preamp like most others. Instead, crank the Post- and set the Pre- to whatever level you need (careful, though, you might still need an attenuator). This thing generates overdrive in its power section that sounds monstrous.

Congrats you're gonna love it. The EZG remains my favorite amp. It's a truly magnificent beast, that's for sure! Try it with the Legend 15" speaker, Steve--SRV tone for days/weeks/months/forever.

I did Mark. I have it hooked up to the cab I got from you. I finally got around to it about a month or so ago and yessir in does indeed!

If you want to dirty it up try a Z Drive, it retains the EZG sound but makes it mean.
