Hi Z-Peeps,
I played with my amp yesterday and it was fine. Today I turn on the amp, no light... so I am thinking that there might be something wrong with the light (just like good old fender amps) and then... nothing... no sound at all... no power, no heat coming from the tubes...
Hopefully this is as simple problem to fix?
I've got a great amp tech but I'd like to avoid as much fees as possible... Still trying to recup from Christmas.

Did you check the fuse? I don't remember the exact symptoms because it was so long ago, but I had a rectifier go. I think that sounds like what happened to me.

@ j4gitr
What should I look for with the fuse?

One of them has a little bit of burnt glass on it. Would that be it?
If so, what brand/type should I buy ?

I think you nailed it with reference to the previous post. My experience has been similar. The fuse popped and I replaced it. Shortly after that the Rectifier went out.

Might be time to replace power tubes. As for the fuse, probably 2 amp slo-blow. Should be stenciled on back of amp I believe. Certainly you can find it on the fuse itself. I'd pick up several and keep them handy. I usually go to my local ACE Hardware. When did you last change power tubes. Last time my Maz blew a fuse, it was due to some failing power tubes.

As a precaution, I would replace all three:
Fuse Rec tube power tubes

Keep known good tubes on hand. That way you can put those in the amp one at a time until you get to where you are not blowing a fuse. That way you know that the last thing you replaced is the only problem and you aren't replacing good tubes.

I changed the power tubes 2 years ago... way too long...

Ok so I'll do as mentioned and buy power tubes, fuses and a rectifier tube. Making sure I change them one by one and see which one is not functioning. Afterwards I'll have a couple extra tubes in hand, not bad.
Anything I should know about buying fuses? And the rectifier tube? Power tube I have replaced many times so I am aware of what and what not.

It seems to be the rectifier tube, when I took it off there a loose metallic sound coming out of it. And one of the fuse has a dark burnt spot on the glass. So I will go to the hardware store tomorrow to buy some fuse, and then order a rectifier tube. Thanks for the help! I'll keep you posted if it worked or not.

Thank you everybody. It was indeed the rectifier tube. I really appreciate it, and I won't hesitate to help others who faces the same problem. Very easy to fix. Thank you all!
