Hey
I have my name down for a Danocaster but it looks like its going to a 6 month wait!
But well worth it I hope.
I'm looking to get a secondhand tele just to bridge the gap then i'll sell it on for the same sort of price when i get the dano
Squire Classic vibe 50's seems to be really cheap! Great reviews too! Have you guys got one or played?
Same with the baja and roadwork.
I will be getting a soft v maple neck with the dano but i don't know how similar the baja soft neck would be?

The more recently built Teles have a modern C shape that is comfortable but a bit skinny for my taste. The biggest difference in the three guitars you listed are electronics (cheaper pots and pickups in the Squire) and finish color options. Sean had a Baja and it was a good playing instrument. I have an ash American Tele that plays well even w the skinny neck profile. It's my opinion the Dano w smoke the modern teles of you're looking for a vintage styled tele w less lacquer and more worn in appeal but I haven't owned a Dano fwiw.

The Classic Vibe just might be one of the best bang for the buck Teles ever produced. It would be hard to lose much on if for some reason it wasn't for you.

If it's just a temporary fix...try the Squier...I have the CVC version and I love it! Have been gigging it hard for almost 6 years now...

I am very close to pulling the trigger and ordering a Danocaster Black guard Tele myself. I own 4 other teles: USA Fender, G&L Asat Z3, a Reverend Eastsider T and a Fender Baja Classic 50's Tele. My least expensive one , the Baja, is my main live guitar now. I LOVE it in every way: how it feels, how it sounds and how versatile it is. It has a soft v neck and a 9.5" radius, custom shop pickups. You can pick them up used relatively cheap, if you can find one.
I like it so much that I considered having it relic'd instead of ordering a Danocaster. To have that done right, it was more expensive that a Dano! I have my G&L up for sale right now and my USA Fender is the next thing to go.

Hey that's good to know!
i guess the baja second hand will sell at the same price as I brought it for in 6 months.
Have you played the squire CV before?

I don't gig mine as frequently as Mark, but I will confirm that it's really nice. The neck is thin, though. As you're anticipating a short hold, perhaps a non-optimally sized neck wouldn't be a deal breaker. Great value. I also had a Baja, which I ended up selling. It too is a nice guitar, but I don't recall enough about how it sounded to be of any help to you. Added: My Squier CVC with "rosewood" complements my maple-neck Nash Tele. Nice to have both fretboard types available.

I have a Classic Vibe Thinline and a Road Worn 72 Deluxe both are great guitars.
I recently picked up a Road Worn 50's Tele that is very, very nice and has a "beefier" neck profile.
The Deluxe I taken to every gig for over a year now.
The 50's will definitely be hitting the scene soon and the CV Thinline only occasionally gigged but after seeing this post I believe I need to reassess.
Geez, I though I was a Strat guy...?

I've had a lot of success with my two teles: Both are Mexi teles. One was purchased new, the other used. On both I did the following: 1) ashtray bridge with compensated saddles 2) new pickup in the bridge position These were not expensive upgrades. I've done a few other things to them, but more appearance oriented. (pickguard color for one) And give them a real good setup.
