22 year old, completely hand built my me, Special Amp. Dig that Altec, what a sweet speaker. I was a little surprised my friend JT sold it, he plays a Ghia exclusively now.

That is a slick-looking amp, my friend. I dig that metal-grate look in the studio 1x12 cab. Awesome!!!

I bet that sounds great with that Altec. My buddy has a cabinet with that speaker loaded in it. I've played my ghia through it and concur with Doc. That's a sweet speaker. Nice find Mike.

Those Altec's have become scarce as hen's teeth. I think Santana bought most of them up for backups. There was a brief period when you could get those and EVMs cheap as no one wanted the weight, especially in their 212 Twins, Pros and such. Now they're gone and the amps that still have them in are going for a premium. Don't want speaker break? Find one of those.

I thought I was the only one who still loves Altec speakers. I have a pair of 12" 417B speakers in a cabinet. They are 16 ohm, which is unusual. The 417B also has a large Alnico magnet. Great speaker though I've never liked the aluminum dome when playing with OD so I have covered them over with a paper dome. If I remember right these were rated at 60 watts. I like the Alnico versions of these speakers better than the ceramic. I never could figure why Altec changed them.
