We all know how difficult it is to find a Mazerati V1 - they almost never show up for sale. Perry Roper clued me in on a gentleman that might have a Hammond Chassis Ghia for sale. Turns out he did and I purchased it from him. While talking with him he mentioned he had a Mazerati that Doc built for him personally. He told me it was the first Mazerati built but he didn't know the serial number but would check to see what it was. I spoke with him again last night - he told me it was serial #001. Green tolex with a black faceplate. Of course, it's coming to the mu-Z-um. I'll post pics when it arrives. Anyone want to buy a Z-Wreck?

Congratulations Mike. You do seem to have a knack for finding things like these. Or maybe, they're finding you.

Fred was one of Doc's early dealers. Fred claims the Mazerati was his idea (though Doc claims it was Joe Walsh - who knows!). He got the first one and I bought it from him.

My V1 brotha!!! Congrats on an awesome find. There's good reason they don't come up for sale that often. Mine will be with me for the remainder. Maybe you'd be up for a V1 jam sesh. I'll come by with Dan. He had a blast when he was by you. Still really appreciate you doing that. How about a gut shot if possible?

I love, the look of the black and gold in your Rati - very classy looking. We'll have to get together and try out a V1 stereo rig
