I've recently picked up a Mazerati to go along with my Ghia, and I'm stoked! I've wanted a Mazerati for years now ever since I heard a friend of mine play his, I instantly fell in love with the tone. However, I've been trying to figure out whether mine is a V1 or a V2. I've searched through the forum and I've seen where some said the V2 was started in 2001 but others said it was 2003. Mine appears to be a 2002 (serial # M-9086). Also, the serial number is written in what looks like Sharpie instead of stamped, which seemed odd to me. And help is appreciated!

V2 began around Sept 2001.

You have yourself a V2 there. How about some pics. I own a V1 and it's been my number one for years. I've played both and they are equally exquisite in their own way. Here's mine. Made in '00 with the Z Best cab from the same year. Congrats on the new rig. The 'ratis are truly great amps. Mine is over fifteen years old and it's never had an issue, other than new power tubes every so often.

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys! I appreciate it! As for pictures, here's one with the Ghia. ? They're sitting on top of a Avatar traditional cab (open back right now) loaded with WGS Retro 30 and ET65. Loving this configuration so far!

Oh yes! That's one reason I picked one up as well. I loved my Ghia so much I wanted the Mazerati for bigger stages. I've been using TAD el84-str in mine and they sound great! 2003 Mazerati V2 here with the 15th Anniversary sticker on the back!

I sorta wish it was a 1x12. But it sounds great nonetheless.

The Ghia is great, but after tube swapping, I realized it just wasn't going to get me the country clean sound I like. However, it's a great amp none the less! The flavor of the 'rati suits me better over all. I wish I could have picked up a red combo, but the stars didn't align for that to happen. There's just something about a red Z!!
