I think I may be getting noise from the power in my house. It's slowly been developing and now it's terrible. I thought it might be my Z but my other amp (which until tonight has always been quiet) might be the culprit but once I used the other amp and the noise was equal I figured the power might be the issue. I started getting a lot of noise out of my drive pedal as well but even without it I have a lot of noise.
Does anyone have any power conditioner suggestions or troubleshooting tips. The noise tames a little but not much when I touch metal (pick up cover, pedal enclosure, etc.) like its a ground issue. So I'm super confused and don't really know where to start.
Fire away.

Borrow someone's power conditioner before you invest. My house has noise and I've been amazed at what won't tame it.

this might be 'out there' but if it's been getting worse over time instead of all at once, open up your breaker box and check the connections for tightness and corrosion (or an electrician depending on your comfort level). The aluminum wiring in newer houses is especially prone to this.

You can get a decent Furman PL-Plus power conditioner for $150. Pretty inexpensive insurance for your investments, IMO...

My house was built in the 50's. We had a few noise issues here and there. Bought a Furman SPB-8C pedal board and all has been quiet. They don't make them any longer but I would recommend any Furman product.

Mine is a rackmount; everything in my studio goes through it.

+++Furman conditioners Mine is a rackmount; everything in my studio goes through it. Great customer service too. I put the board through some heavy use. The handle broke totally my fault. All they asked was for to send a picture and they replaced the whole thing. I sold the older one on Craigslist. I'll always use and promote them.

I finally invested in the P-1800 AR...filtering and voltage regulation. Works like a champ...run everything through it. Set you back $700-$800...so I had to save up for a while. But I don't regret it.

I used to have a Furman SPB-8 pedal board it, was awesome. I was looking at a few Furman products. They actually make the power conditioner from the SPB-8 as a stand alone unit...tempting.

Does the unit have the same TRS routing options? Could you post a link? I'd be interested in checking that out. Thank you in advance... Eric

Cool thanks. I rarely use you inputs. I imagine few did and that's why they got rid of them. I've used the heck out of this board. It has yet to give me any problems. Worth every penny.

I read, maybe here, that your rectifier tube can cause some noise issues when it starts to wear out. I changed it out and it seemed to resolve a good portion of the noise. Also, I found some loose screws, that cleared a lot of noise as well. I may still need a power conditioner but for now the noise is tamed quite a bit.

The preamp tubes are are what cleared up the most hiss and noise with my 'rati. I also went from using new production rectifiers in my Mazerati to NOS. It did clear things up a bit. I hope to get years not months out of them as well. Go NOS when choosing rectifiers when possible. Bought mine from Mike at KCANOS. Great place to buy tubes. Mine are RCA fwiw.

Very cool, I went with JJ but will definitely consider NOS for my next change.
