Just found out my 2004 Epiphone Elitist 1963 ES-335 Dot inbound from Japan is STILL sitting in Chicago customs. Errr. So close yet so far away...

The waiting is the hardest part (Tom Petty). Very nice brayks, well worth the wait.

I wonder how it differs from the Epi Pro 335 I picked up last year. Sure looks like it's a notch up in quality, although the Pro is a mighty nice axe for under $400.

I remember when we got these and the rest of the "Elitist" line in the store when they first came out. I was very, very impressed. I just had a hard time getting past the name.

Still in Customs. What the...?
Heck, I import machine tools from Korea and get them cleared faster than this guitar from Japan for crying out loud!

Man , that's frustrating! What is their problem? We've had incoming shipments held up where I work a couple of times. Seems sometimes customs does random audits of some shipments but their personnel get to it when they dang well please. Hope it clears soon Steve.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! Customs sounds like a cool place for a guitar to hang out...but it's not.

Can't say for SURE, but sometimes it takes a while, even 24 hours, for the tracking to update...your guitar may actually be out of there by now.

She's probably sweet talkin' all of those custom officials and they just don't want to let her go! It's not their fault!

So, let me get this straight. A used guitar from Japan (a friendly country) gets held up longer at the border than a Syrian refugee.

Finally! Baby showed up Monday and I got a chance to un-package it yesterday, however I've not a chance to plug 'er in yet. This guitar arrived packaged to the max and it is beautiful. It looks like it was never played- just stuck in the case and put in the closed for 11 years. Fairly plain grain top (just the way I like 'em) but with custom shop build, fit and finish. Neck is not to thin and not to too bulky with a great taper and nice dark fingerboard...beautiful. I can't wait to plug and play to see what this baby can do. I just wish I had a Z-Lux to plug into. Oh well, I guess my JAZ will have to do...for now.

Very nice! What will you plug into for the maiden voyage? smooth The quickest and easiest would be wireless to my pedal board which is hooked to a: Therapy (stock Z-Best), EZG-50 (2 X G12-65) and Remedy (2 X G12M Z-Best) - all cookin' at the same time. Then its on to the JAZ...
