As some of you know I just ordered a Therapy and was wondering what it might sound like with my open back Z 2X12 cab. It has the G12H30 and the V30. Now I realize a thread like this will spark lots of speaker opinions and that's cool, but what I'm needing to know is if what I have now gonna do any justice at all to the Therapy. Thanks!

I have to believe it's gonna sound just fine. What guitar(s) are you playing thru it and what kinda sound(s) are you shootin' for? I've played my Therapy with 3 different speakers - and they all sounded real good, each a bit different, but good nonetheless.

My main guitar is a tele with a mini hum in the neck. That's the guitar that gets used about 90% of the time. Then there is my 90s strat plus for certain songs and stage backup. I'm super conserve with pedals as I ONLY use a Boss Blues Driver, Xotic SP compressor and a floor tuner on a nano pedal train powered by a Cioks Adam (amazing power source). I like simple lol

The sound I'm shooting for is clean, full and bite when I dig in. I want woody spank on the low end and sustaining highs that cut through the mix without the ice pic. I have never been much on the mids and usually just barely turn the mid knob on any amp. Probably about 7 O'clock. I know the Therapy is a bit different from most Z amps so I'm really hoping I can still hear that 3D "magic" that I've only heard with Z amps. I learned to rely on that for my sound.
I had a 59 RI Bassman through the 90s that I miss and that's one factor leading me to the Therapy. No I don't want another Bassman, just some Bassman like qualities.

I think it will sound amazing, if the speakers are broken in.

For larger venues I play my Therapy through an open back 2x12 w/ Vin30s.
Not much to argue about.

I think you're right on the center of the path...it's going to sound huge. The thing about the Therapy is that it can do the cleans you seek and if you goose the volume and back off the master it gets into solid rock od/distortion. It's a great amp.

Odd as it sounds, its a good acoustic guitar amp as well. In the learning curve on this amp. I did change out V1 for a 5751 RCA I had from an old fender. Took some of the teeth out of the amp. Smoothed it out, I use a Z 4-10 sounds pretty good to me. Will get a 1-12 as well for ease of hauling. I will say this, I have had alot of Z amps but none quite like this one. I does the Z28 trick with my strat, dime the bass, no mids, dime the treble. Have to make some adjustments on the guitar for this setting but it gives up some killer sounds. It also goes in the BF camp with a "standard" set up on the EQ, minus the mids, I leave them off or just to where you can begin to hear the shift. There are alot of sounds in there. Have some JJ 6V6 on order, I put a set of NOS RCA in it and it sounded killer, sparkle, twang, balls...all of it. Will see how the JJ sound, used them in my Remedy and was not nuts about them but this is a whole differnt Zebra....The Beat Goes On.

I have 2 x12 loaded with v30's that sounds really great with my Therapy. My main cab is a 2x12 loaded with Greenbacks. Don't be a raid of the mid knob on the Therapy. The tone controls on this amp are pretty amazing and even with a brighter tele you'll be able to dial in some nice clean tones that won't ice pick you. Todd

Doc rates the V30 as the best speaker for the Therapy, so you can't go too far wrong!!
